The Story
In this delightful, laugh-a-minute comedy, four unique Southern women, all needing to escape the sameness of their day-to-day routines, are drawn together by fate – and an impromptu happy hour – and decide it’s high time to reclaim their former enthusiasm for life.
Over the course of six months filled with laughter, hilarious misadventures and the occasional liquid refreshment, these middle-aged women successfully bond and find the confidence to jump-start their new lives. Together, they discover lasting friendships and a renewed determination to live in the moment – and most importantly, realize it’s never too late to make new old friends.
The Characters
Randa Covington (age range late 40s early 50s) Randa is a perfectionist and workaholic, struggling to cope with a surprise career derailment that, unfortunately, reveals that she has no life and no idea how to get one.
Dot Haigler (age range 60s) Dot is still reeling from her husband’s recent demise and the loss of their plans for an idyllic retirement. She also faces the unsettling prospect of starting a new life from scratch — and all alone.
Marlafaye Mosley (age range late 50s early 60s) Earthy and boisterous, Marlafaye is a good ol’ Texas gal. She has blasted into Savannah in the wake of losing her tom-cattin’ husband to a 23-year-old dental hygienist. The strength of her desire to establish a new life is equaled only by her desire to wreak righteous revenge on her ex.
Jinx Jenkins (age range 50s) Also new to town, Jinx, a spunky ball of fire, offers her services as a much-needed life coach for these women. However, blinded by her determination and efforts to get their lives on track, she overlooks the fact that she’s the one most in need of sage advice.
And a nonspeaking role, to be played by guests from the community.
Audition Information
Auditions will consist of readings from the script.

Headshots and resumes are welcome but not required. We will take a photo of you upon your arrival.
Important Dates
Auditions will be held at the Old Wendell Town Hall, Pine Street, Wendell, Saturday, August 15, from 1-3 p.m., and Sunday, August 16 from 3 – 5 p.m.
Callbacks are scheduled Saturday, August 22, from 1-3 p.m.
Read Through & Kick-off: Monday, Oct. 12, at 6:30 p.m.
Rehearsals (Subject to change): Mondays – Thursdays 6:30 – 9 p.m. Oct. 13 – Nov. 25
Tech Week: Nov. 29, 2 – 8 p.m., Nov. 30 – Dec 3 Tech, 6 – 10 p.m.
Performance weekends: Friday Saturday, Dec. 4-5 at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m.; Friday Saturday, Dec. 11 & 12 at 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m.
